DnD Character Creator

This self-paced module guides novice players through the possibly overwhelming but rewarding process of creating their character.

Goal: To create unique DnD characters reflective of the player's vision.

Problem: When creating a DnD character, there are hundreds of pages of information, as well as websites, which can be overwhelming to novice players. There are ready-made characters available, but they don't give players a chance to create a character of their own design.

Solution: This eLearning module takes the player step-by-step through the complex character creation process. The extensive character sheet is broken down into sections with engaging tutorial videos used as guides. As the player progresses, only information relevant to their character is displayed, thereby streamlining the process and reducing confusion. Elements of gamification are incorporated in the process.

Results: This module, used by a school-based DnD club sponsor, has significantly reduced the amount of time and frustration the novice players experienced in creating their characters. It also has freed up the sponsor to spend more time helping with other phases of the game. Note - This demo only includes the first section.
